Uzbekistan to Invest $200 Million in Women's Businesses: An Opportunity for South Korean Investors

In Uzbekistan, programs supporting women's entrepreneurship are being implemented with the assistance of the UN Development Program. In 2024, over 2.1 million women entrepreneurs were active, a sevenfold increase compared to 2020. An additional $200 million is planned to be allocated for financing women's projects in 2025.

Women's entrepreneurship is rapidly developing in Uzbekistan, opening up new cooperation opportunities for South Korean investors and companies.

As a result of programs implemented with the support of the UN Development Program (UNDP), the women-led business sector in Uzbekistan has grown significantly. In 2024, over 2.1 million women entrepreneurs were active in the country, a figure seven times higher than in 2020.

This positive trend is expected to continue in the coming years. According to plans, an additional $200 million will be directed towards financing women's projects in 2025. This will serve to further accelerate the growth rates in this sector.

Therefore, South Korean companies and investors are in a favorable position to invest in or cooperate with these developing women-led businesses in Uzbekistan. This presents an opportunity not only for economic benefit but also to contribute to social development.
