The Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo is worsening due to a strike by medical staff.

Medical staff working in Ebola treatment centers in the eastern part of the country went on strike demanding wages. This situation is significantly disrupting the process of providing patient care amidst the rapidly spreading Ebola epidemic.

According to data provided by the government, the number of confirmed Ebola cases has reached 2,973, including 1,309 deaths.
