Canal+ has committed to investing $1 billion in French and European cinema starting from 2028.
Global media company Canal+ has reached a significant agreement with French cinema guilds. According to it, the company will invest 980 million euros ($1.1 billion) in French and European cinema over five years, starting from 2028.
This massive investment aims to stably maintain the place of cinema at the heart of the French cultural model, demonstrating a commitment to supporting the country's rich cinematographic traditions.
The funds within the agreement will be directed towards supporting new directors, new styles, debut films, emerging talents, and diverse films. This will serve to ensure the future development and diversity of European cinema.
