Women's Entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan Sees Unprecedented Growth: Over 2 Million Women Enter Business

Women's entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan has shown significant growth in recent years. Since 2020, the number of women entrepreneurs has increased sevenfold, with over 2 million women now owning their businesses. This figure clearly demonstrates the active participation of women in the country's economy.

Dildora Olimova in the agribusiness sector and Ruzigul Anorkulova in the production of export-oriented food products are among the women who have achieved success. Within the framework of the "Empower Women" project, implemented with the support of the European Union, women are being taught entrepreneurial skills and provided with the necessary assistance to start businesses.

This development opens up new opportunities for Turkish entrepreneurs. They can consider opportunities for cooperation with women-led businesses in Uzbekistan, exporting their products to international markets, or establishing joint ventures. Investing in programs supporting women's entrepreneurship is also a promising direction.

The data is based on the study "From Barriers to Business: Uzbekistan's Bold Bet on Women Entrepreneurs."
